If you would like to volunteer to serve on one of the City’s Citizen Boards or Committees, or have any questions, please complete a Citizen Board Application and return it to the Office of the City Clerk or via email.
Applications are maintained in an active file for six months. If you have submitted an application within the last six months, but were not chosen and would like to be considered for another board, please contact the Office of City Clerk lgamiotea@cityofokeechobee.com and ask that your application be placed back up for consideration.
All applicants for a City Board shall complete a Citizen Board/Committee Application form. Board members serve their appointed term without any compensation. Additional qualifications may be required depending on the particular board. Board members are appointed by the City Council, excluding those Pension Trustees who are elected by the Fund Members.
Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 55 SE 3rd Avenue, Suite 200, Okeechobee, FL 34974
9 members: Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. |

5 members: Meets the 1st Monday in Feb., May, Aug. & Nov. at 5:00 p.m. |

Citizen Charter Review Advisory Committee (CCRAC) | 9 members: Meeting dates are scheduled as needed. |

Technical Review Committee
The Technical Review Committee meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10:00am
The Technical Review Committee consists of the following representative from each listed department and/or organization:
- City Administrator
- Building Official
- Public Works Director
- Chief of Police
- Fire Chief
- Okeechobee County Health Department
- Okeechobee Utility Authority
- Okeechobee County School Board
Pension Boards
All three (3) Pension boards meet quarterly, the first Monday in February, May, August and November.
